I am an animal lover. I prefer cats to dogs, but I do love all animals (except for birds and monkeys — long story!). I have three cats and one dog.

Piper, the Cute

I adopted Piper from the local vet clinic in April 2007. Piper is a spunky, playful, and somewhat dim-witted little kitty that loves to get into mischief. She’s very vocal and loves to make silly kitty noises. She’s also my baby — rather, I’m her person. It’s just assumed that Piper is my kitty, and I’m her human.

Thor, the Giant

Thor came into our lives a month after Piper. He’s definitely a cat with a big personality and an appetite to match. In spite of his attitude problems, he’s a very social and friendly cat and loves to be the center of attention. He has his own blog, too.

Phoebe, the Sweet

Unlike Piper and Thor, Phoebe adopted us in June ‘07. However, she stayed an outside cat until November ‘08, when we cleaned her up and brought her inside. She’s a very shy, somewhat skittish cat but despite that remains one of the sweetest kitties ever. She loves ear scratches and long strokes.

Annie, the Simpering

Annie is my little terrier-mix, adopted in January ‘10. She originally came from a puppy mill in Georgia. Her previous owner had small children around and did not want Annie to bite them. Annie is a very subservient, obedient little dog who likes to nap. It’s almost like having a fourth cat.
